Viewing your Results Online
You can view unofficial test results on the 13th day after the test for the Paper Test or 5 to 7 days after your test for the Computer Test at https://results.ieltsessentials.com/. If your test was on a Saturday, then the 13th day after will be on a Friday. Recognizing organizations do not recognize these provisional results. All recognizing organizations require original Test Report Forms.
Test Report Forms (TRF)
IELTS releases test results on a Test Report Form (TRF). The Test Report Forms will indicate sub-scores in Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking, and an overall band score or the average of the four sub-scores. Band scores range from 0 (non-user) to 9 (expert user).
We release IELTS results 13 calendar days after the test. This means we release the results on the second Friday after a Saturday test. And we release the results on the second Wednesday following a Thursday test. Please note that only one copy goes directly to the candidate and all other copies must go to institutions.
We send one copy of the TRF to the postal address supplied in the application. You can also apply for five additional copies of the test result form in your online application. We send these extra copies free of charge only if they are included in the online application. We send additional test report forms directly to the academic institutions, government agencies, professional bodies or employers that require it.
